Rules & Regulations
Please read all of the following rules and regulations before registering for Hull’s Got Talent. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at: hpa@hullperformingarts.org. We are looking for performances which are well-rehearsed, unique and entertaining.
Hull’s Got Talent takes place at 4p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the
Weir River Estuary Center on Geo. Washington Boulevard in Hull.
Ages 8 through Adult are encouraged to compete.

- Registration fee for competitors is $12 per person with a $50 cap per group
- If you are currently an HPA board member or, you simply wish to perform but not compete for prizes, registration fee is a $6 flat fee, even if you’re in a group.
- All acts must register online by Friday, October 14, 2016. HPA cannot guarantee a place in the competition if this guideline is not met.
- There are no longer three divisions separating age groups. Each act will be competing for the same prizes regardless of age.
- All competitors of Hull’s Got Talent must be at least 8 years of age by October 1, 2016.
- A contestant may compete in only one act but may play a supportive role for another act such as: accompanist, back-up singer, magician’s assistant, etc.
- All participants of Hull’s Got Talent agree to photographs and/or recordings of their performance for promotional purposes in local media.
- If an act requires pre-recorded music, a CD or digital copy of that music must be submitted to Hull Performing Arts by the registration deadline. HPA cannot accept pre-recorded music the day of the show.
- HPA is unable to provide an accompanist or instrumentation for any act. However, if a performer requires an electronic keyboard, HPA will make one available.
- Performances may not exceed 3 minutes in length. Performers have 2 minutes in which to set-up prior to their act.
- The following are prohibited: Baton Twirling, Juggling or any acts involving the use of knives, fire, pyrotechnics or other dangerous materials which could cause injury to performers and audience members alike.
- There will be a panel of three judges. No judge score sheets will be made available to any contestant at any time. All judges’ decisions are final.
- The judges and/or emcee reserve the right to halt a performance in which profanity, suggestive movement or language or, in all other ways, inappropriate material is being used.
- Hull’s Got Talent begins at 4p.m. All performers, whether competing or not, must arrive to the Weir River Estuary Center no later than 3p.m. At this time, the order in which the acts will perform will be assigned.
- First, Second and Third prize winners will be awarded at the end of the show, along with, certificates for honorable mentions. Actual prizes will not be disclosed until the day of the show.
