Hull's Got Talent! - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. When do I register? You must register by Friday, October 14, 2016. At this time, you must send or drop off your registration fee, a description of your talent, a CD or digital recording of any music you may be using, your email address and your phone number.
  2. What is the Entry Fee? Registration fee is $12 per competitor with a $50 maximum per group. For non-competitors the fee is a flat $6 per act regardless of individual or group.
  3. What day is the competition? The show is Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 4p.m.
  4. What time do I need to arrive if I am competing? You need to arrive at 3p.m. and sign-in. At this time, you will get your performance time slot.
  5. What if I’m just performing and not competing? You need to arrive at 3p.m. and sign-in. At this time, you will get your performance time slot.
  6. Could a pianist, who needs a grand piano, perform? Why, yes! If the pianist is willing to use an electronic keyboard instead. Please inform us, via email, if you need to use our keyboard.
  7. May I compete more than once? You may not compete in more than one act. You may, however, provide support in someone else’s act.
  8. If I’m just providing support in someone else’s act, but I’m not competing, do I still need to pay a fee? No! We think it’s really thoughtful of you to be supportive of somebody else…that’s payment enough for us!
  9. What should I wear to the competition? Appropriate attire is important. Please remember, this is a family show. Otherwise, wear what you would wear for a performance. If your act requires a costume, wear it! We’re a theatre group-we love “dress-up”!
  10. May I have back-up vocals on my pre-recorded music? Absolutely!
  11. Will there be a sound system? There will be a microphone on a stand provided plus a system to play CDs and digital recordings.
  12. Can I invite people to the performance? YES!! Please invite everyone to come. The more the merrier! The show is free but a suggested donation of $5 is always welcome. The proceeds from this show go towards future Hull Performing Arts shows and workshops that benefit the surrounding communities.
  13. Do I have to stay for the entire show? Winners must be present to collect their prize. Otherwise, prizes will be awarded to the next runner-up.
  14. Will there be any refreshments available? No. Make sure you bring water to keep yourself hydrated.
